11th Annual Nolafunk Series During Jazz Fest Announces Lineup: Dead Feat, Delta Blues Explosion, Daniel Donato’s Cosmic NOLA and More

Nolafunk has unveiled the lineup for its 11th Annual Nolafunk Series During Jazz Fest. Staged during the evenings and weekends of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival, April 25-May 5, Nolafunk will bring some of the jam scene’s most exciting acts to a trio of the city’s storied venues.

The highly anticipated concert series kicks off on Friday, April 26, with the return of Daniel Donato’s Cosmic NOLA. Supported by a selection of special guests to be announced, the group will come together at Republic NOLA to blaze a mind-bending journey through the city’s signature sound. 

Then, on Saturday, April 27, Delta Blues Explosion comes together for the first time. The blues rock ensemble composed of Samantha Fish, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Tab Benoit, Eric Gales and Sierra Green & The Giants will take the stage at The Fillmore for its debut performance.

Dead Feat ring in the following weekend with their return to Republic NOLA on Thursday, May 2. Performing the music of the Grateful Dead, Little Feat, and other jams, the group will be joined for the first time by Melvin Seals of Jerry Garcia Band and Wally Ingram of Bobby & Phil to complete the supergroup’s authoritative tribute to jam’s originators. On the following Saturday, May 4, Republic NOLA will host the series debut of The Polyphonic Spree, Dallas’ distinctive choral rock vanguard fronted by Tim DeLaughter.

That same evening, Anders Osbornes’ NOLA Birthday Bash will celebrate the artist’s 35th consecutive Jazz Fest performance with a funk-rock blowout. The singer takes the stage at The Civic Theatre alongside an assembly of NOLA royalty, including Dave Malone of The Radiators, Luther Dickinson of North Mississippi Allstars, Jackie Greene and George Porter Jr., plus a supporting performance by Eric Lindell and his band.
