4 Non Blondes are reuniting for their first show in 30 years
4 Non Blondes are reuniting for their first official performance in 30 years – find out more below.
Last night (January 13), the BottleRock Napa Valley Festival announced its line-up for the three-day festival this May. Among the bands performing are 4 Non Blondes, who broke up in 1994.
Since their split, the ‘What’s Up?’ hitmakers have not gotten together to play live, except for a brief one-off performance for a fundraising concert in Los Angeles in 2014. The upcoming BottleRock performance will mark their first official gig since the break up.
Speaking to Allison Hagendorf, frontwoman Linda Perry said when asked why now’s the right time for a reunion: “It’s not but feels right in my head and my heart. I’ve been kind of putting that energy out, because I want 2025 to be my year. I want to own this year because I feel like I’ve been planting seeds all over the place and I’m watching my little trees grow.”
She added that BottleRock offered her a gig for 4 Non Blondes and she called up the other members of the band, who she says “don’t talk”: “They were excited, and so I’m gonna go hang out with them in San Francisco, rehearse and just dick around. Not really have a plan, but just see how it feels.”
Perry also added that the band had recorded a second album in 1994 before their split but she’ll “leave it there”. Speaking on the band’s split, she said: “I was in a really bad space during that time, because my feelings get hurt so easily. And so I left the band because my feelings just kept getting hurt and I didn’t know how to deal with it.”

BottleRock Napa Valley 2025 will take place between May 23 and May 25 – you can get tickets here from 10am PT today (January 14).
