In recognition of three decades of soulful sounds, Epic Records/Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, is set to launch the newly remastered and expanded edition of G. Love & Special Sauce’s self-titled debut album. G. Love & Special Sauce (30th Anniversary Expanded Edition) is scheduled to hit all major streaming platforms and digital music services on Friday, Jan. 12.

Formed by the Philadelphia native Garrett “G. Love” Dutton on vocals/guitar/harmonica, alongside Jeffrey “The Houseman” Clemens on drums and James “Jimi Jazz” Prescott on bass, the trio rose above the ’90s alt-rock scene with their distinct sound. To commemorate their enduring success as a live act, this special edition features 11 previously unreleased live recordings. The dynamic performances were recorded during two electric sets at the Knitting Factory circa July 20, 1994. In celebration of the remaster’s announcement, a live updated version of “Cold Beverage” was released today.

Additionally, G. Love & Special Sauce are hitting the road for a 41-date North American tour, commencing in St. Louis, Mo. on Jan. 11 and concluding on March 16. Longtime collaborator Chuck Treece will be joining the trio on drums. Learn more and find tickets to G. Love’s upcoming performances here.
