The Mothership will explore the stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as its navigator, George Clinton, receives one of his own next Friday. Clinton expressed his elation with Rolling Stone, saying, “It feels incredibly gratifying. I’m pondering some jokes to share, but the honest truth is, I’m bursting with pride.”

Speakers at the event will include the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis, a longtime acquaintance of Clinton since their collaboration on the Chili Peppers’ 1985 LP Freaky Styley, civil rights attorney Ben Crump, who has supported Clinton in the pursuit of regaining copyrights for certain albums and Janie Bradford, co-writer of “Money (That’s What I Want)” with Motown Records founder Berry Gordy.

This ceremony, dedicated to honoring the genius behind Parliament-Funkadelic, whose musical contributions infused funk with psychedelic and Afrofuturistic elements, shaping the foundation of hip-hop, is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. PT on Jan. 19 in front of the Musicians Institute.

The event will be broadcast live on WalkOfFame.com, allowing fans worldwide to join in the celebration.
