Dinosaur Jr. are currently in the midst of a West Coast run of shows celebrating the 30th anniversary of their seminal Where You Been album. On the heels of their Brooklyn, NY stand at Music Hall of Williamsburg, where the veteran alt-rock act invited out a slew of guests each, this weekend the group welcomed a few friends at Portland, OR’s Revolution Hall.

On Saturday, Dinosaur Jr. invited out Pavement frontman and area hero Stephen Malkmus for a take on “Kracked” near the end of their show. Right after that, they brought out another seminal indie figure and Portland staple, Dandy Warhol’s Peter Holmström, for a cover of The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven.” Then, last night at the same venue, Modest Mouse’s Isaac Brock emerged for a version of “Freak Scene” at a similar point in the show.

Dinosaur Jr. will perform next at Seattle’s Neptune Theatre on January 17.
