Watch: The Road to Ventura, Sages and Spirits Perform “Feels Like a Stranger”

Today, Jan. 17, Relix has shared the first installment of their 2024 live video series with SKULL & ROSES, The Road to Ventura, which is slated to return to the Ventura County Fairground in Ventura, Calif., on April 19 through 21, 2024. The pro-shot video, dropped today, capture Sages and Spirits’ rendition of the Grateful Dead classic “Feels Like a Stranger.” 

The clip, which can be viewed below, was recorded on April 19, 2023, and finds Sages and Spirit members Melvin Seals, Rob Eaton, John Kadlecik, Jay Lane, Rob Barraco, Skip Vangelis, and Jake Wolf reviving the 1980 Go to Heaven originator, in a similar style to the Dead, with Dark Star Orchestra’s Eaton, filling Bobby Weir’s lead. 

The impending edition of SKULL & ROSES will feature sets from Dark Star Orchestra, The Golden Gate Wingmen (Jeff Chimenti, Kadlecik, Lane and Reed Mathis), Sage and Spirits, Melvin Seals & JGB, Stu Allen & Mars Hotel, Jerry’s Middle Finger and more. View the 2024 itinerary here.
