Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue Detail 8th Treme Threauxdown at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival

On Saturday, April 27, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue will return to New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival for the highly-anticipated 2024 installment of Treme Threauxdown. Since its 2015 debut, the ensemble’s funk celebration has become a festival highlight by welcoming some of the most esteemed musicians from New Orleans and beyond to a next-level jam session, to be staged this year at the historic Saenger Theatre.

While this year’s guest stars have not yet been announced, Treme Threauxdown boasts a legacy of hosting incomparable acts onstage with Trombone Shorty and his eight-piece band. Performances from previous years have paired New Orleans funk legends like Allen Toussaint, Leo Nocentelli and Dr. John with other stars like Usher, Joan Jett and Mavis Staples, creating an atmosphere humming with innovation. The event is also known for featuring surprise performances from big names such as Steve Miller and Wyclef Jean, amplifying the concert’s profile even further.

This announcement arrives just days after Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue returned from Cuba, where the band hosted its third Getting Funky in Havana cultural exchange festival on Jan. 11-15. Next, Trombone Shorty will bring the sound and energy of his traditional Shorty Gras performance to 13 dates along the East Coast in his first-ever Shorty Gras tour, with support from Orleans Avenue and the Soul Rebels. After the Treme Threauxdown concert, Trombone Shorty will perform Jazz Fest’s powerful final set, an honor previously assumed by the Neville Brothers, and by Professor Longhair before them.

Artist presale tickets for the eighth Treme Threauxdown at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival are available now, and venue presale opens on Thursday, Jan. 25, at 10:00 a.m. local time. General tickets will go on sale on Friday, Jan. 26, at 11:00 a.m. local time.
