SoundCloud has announced partnerships with Fadr, Soundful, and Voice-Swap to bring a new bevy of AI-assisted tools to its creators. Here’s the latest.

SoundCloud says the move reflects its past support of its community with integrations into digital audio workstations (DAWs), bringing a new suite of tools to creators. Fadr allows anyone to create mash-ups and remixes of their favorite songs, while Soundful generates distinctive, studio-quality music for creators for royalty-free background music. Meanwhile, Voice-Swap allows musicians to transform vocal stems using generative AI to match the style of a licensed artist voice.

“At SoundCloud, we take pride in being ground zero for musical experimentation. That’s why we’re home to what’s next in music,” says SoundCloud CEO Eliah Seton. “AI is top of mind for us in this context, and we’re excited about how this technology can be applied to serve and empower artists. These partners, which we’ve selected intentionally, reflect the very best of what the industry has to offer in this arena—tools that open up new creative avenues and make artists’ lives a little bit easier.”

The new integrations will be available soon and will allow artists to easily share newly created songs to SoundCloud through a built-in “Upload to SoundCloud” that will go live in each partner tool. Songs uploaded to SoundCloud will also be automatically tagged to feature the tool they were created with (ex: ‘Made with Fadr’). Artists can edit their uploaded tracks directly from their SoundCloud profile page.

SoundCloud says this new suite of partnerships marks its commitment to empower artists on the platform. But it’s also taking a harsher stance against AI abuse and bots crawling the site and using creator works to train their models. “SoundCloud is applying new methods to prevent AI abuse and protect its artists by blocking AI bots from crawling its site and training models on its catalog,” the press statement reads.
