Each member of The Beatles will be the subject of their own biopic. The four-part movie series is being developed by British filmmaker Sam Mendes (Skyfall, 1917, American Beauty) and is set to be released in 2027. The impending theatrical experience aims to lend perspective and present each band member’s point of view.

Notably, the families of late group members John Lennon and George Harrison have authorized the project. All parties, including Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, have bestowed access to retelling their life stories and extended the use of their original music.

Mendes will produce the theatrical adaptations in collaboration with his Neal Street Productions partners, Pippa Harris and Julie Pastor, and CEO of The Beatles extension of Apple Corps Ltd., Jeff Jones. In a press release, Mendes said, “I’m honored to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes trips to the movies.”

The impending retelling of one of rock-and-roll’s greatest acts will arrive after the Peter Jackson-directed and produced 2021 documentary series Get Back. The previous release chronicled the band’s studio time while making their 1970 LP Let It Be.
