Rosé Tops ARIA Singles for Third Week, Paul Kelly’s Latest Album Hits No. 3

Rosé is unstoppable. For the third consecutive week, the New Zealand-born, Melbourne-raised BLACKPINK member dominates the ARIA Singles Chart with her single “APT.,” marking her longest-running Australian #1.

The achievement adds to her groundbreaking debut as the first solo female K-pop artist to reach #1 on the ARIA Singles Chart—a milestone now transformed into a chart-topping streak.

Released on October 18th, “APT.” quickly became a streaming and radio favourite. The track, co-written with legendary Australian songwriter Mike Chapman, best known for hits like Toni Basil’s iconic “Mickey,” captures a playful yet nostalgic energy that fans are lapping up.

The song draws inspiration from a popular South Korean drinking game called “Apartment,” a concept Rosé introduced in the studio that shaped the track’s catchy chorus.

This recent success further sets the stage for Rosé’s much-anticipated debut solo album, Rosie, due out in December 2024. “I’ve poured my blood and tears into this album,” Rosé recently shared with fans, promising an impactful release to close out the year.

On the ARIA Albums Chart, Australian music veteran Paul Kelly scores a #3 debut with Fever Longing Still, his 28th studio album as a solo artist or as part of a group. This release adds another accolade to Kelly’s storied career, which boasts 13 top 10 albums and previous #1 hits like Life Is Fine (2017) and Paul Kelly’s Christmas Train (2022). `

Meanwhile, Cairns-born trio Chase Atlantic, who rose to fame via social media, secure their first ARIA Top 50 placement with their fourth album Lost In Heaven. Coldplay’s Moon Music, benefiting from the band’s current Australian tour, sees a significant leap on the Albums Chart, climbing from #51 to #6.

The band’s 2015 album, A Head Full of Dreams, has also re-entered the charts, now sitting at #46.Further down the chart, John Butler debuts at #23 with Still Searching. Known for his work with the John Butler Trio, the ARIA Award winner adds another solo success to his portfolio. His previous solo release, One Small Step!, reached #23 in 2007, while his group’s albums, including Sunrise Over Sea (2004) and Home (2018), have consistently performed well on the ARIA Charts.
