Lettuce have announced the Get Up Tour, an expansive run that will take the band to 16 high-profile venues across the country at the outset of 2025. To amplify expectations for its return to touring, the road warriors detail that seven of these dates will be collaborative performances with GZA. Together, the Boston-bred jam-funk ensemble and legendary Wu-Tang Clan wordsmith will stage Liquid Swords in its entirety, presenting the iconic 1995 hardcore hip-hop opus in unprecedented color in honor of its 30th anniversary.

“Wu-Tang Clan to this day has such a cultural impact on this world,” drummer Adam Deitch offers in a reverent statement. “GZA aka the Genius, who we’ve gotten to know and work with over the years, is an integral part of the style, knowledge, and sound of this legendary group. GZA’s album Liquid Swords is a classic, and we are honored to be sharing the stage with him and his band. Lettuce looks forward to seeing you all in attendance for this monumental tour, featuring dates that will join classic Hip Hop, Funk, Soul, and mysterious psych jams into one big sweaty event!”

Lettuce and The Genius will kick off their collaboration on Jan. 22 with a performance at Del Mar, Calif.’s The Sound. From there, the unique pairing will bring GZA’s groundbreaking, cinematic rap epic up the California coast, stopping at Los Angeles’ The Novo on Jan. 23 before taking over Oakland, Calif.’s Fox Theatre on Jan. 24. After two solo Lettuce dates in Louisville, Ky. and Columbus, Ohio, GZA will rejoin on the East Coast, bringing his gritty, philosophically-focused flows to Harrisburg, Pa.’s XL Live on Feb. 4, Pittsburgh’s Stage AE on Feb. 5 and The Fillmore in Silver Spring, Md. on Feb. 6. Finally, GZA will wrap his run with Lettuce in his home city, returning to Shaolin for a finale at Brooklyn, N.Y.’s Brooklyn Steel on Feb. 7.

Following its series with GZA, Lettuce will go on to perform five further shows down the East Coast, stopping in Boston, Raleigh, N.C., Athens, Ga., Savannah, Ga. and Miami through Feb. 13. After leading the lineup for Jam Cruise 21 around the Caribbean from Feb. 14-19, the jam-funk innovators will conclude the Get Up Tour with a previously announced symphonic staging alongside the Colorado Symphony; this third meeting with the esteemed orchestra will be set at Denver’s Mission Ballroom on March 2. Before teaming up with Lettuce, GZA will join Ghostface Killah and Raekwon for three rare collaborative shows in early December. On Dec. 5, 6 and 7, the Wu-Tang icons will perform Liquid Swords and Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx… (another ‘95 banger) in Philadelphia, New York and Boston. Read more here.
