T-Pain has defended working with Mark Zuckerberg after he received some backlash for teaming up with the Meta CEO for a remix of Lil Jon’s “Get Low,” which Zuck wanted to make as a sentimental anniversary gift for his wife.

“It is impossible for some people to have fun,” The Tallahassee native said in an Instagram video on Thursday (Nov. 14). “I’ve learned how to not worry about what y’all are talking about.” In a second video, he asked, “Why y’all hate happiness so much? Y’all don’t like when people do wholesome things, y’all don’t like when people do stuff for their wives.”

Pain continued to berate the haters. “When motherf–kers actually doing something good, in their god damn life then all of a sudden, I need to distance myself. Shut the hell up! Shut up! What the f–k you doing on your phone right now, looking at T-Pain? How the f–k did you just see all three of these videos? That’s three minutes of your motherf–king time you could have been actually doing this s–t you said you ain’t have time [for].”

“Get Low” — which reached No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2003 — has a special meaning to Zuckerberg and his wife, Priscilla Chan, as the Lil Jon & The Eastside Boyz banger was playing when they first met at a college party, and the couple plays it every year on their anniversary.

“‘Get Low’ was playing when I first met Priscilla at a college party, so every year we listen to it on our dating anniversary,” Zuckerberg wrote to Instagram when announcing the remix. “This year I worked with @tpain on our own version of this lyrical masterpiece. Sound on for the track and also available on Spotify. Love you.”

Earlier this week, Zuckerberg and T-Pain joined forces to form Z-Pain and turn the crunk anthem into an acoustic ballad. The pair appear to go back some years as Zuck joined Pain for a livestream in 2021. Earlier this year, the “Buy U A Drank” artist gifted Zuckerberg a Nappy Boy Meta chain.
