Alien Ant Farm have provided an update to their 2025 Australian tour, which fell into jeopardy last week after a fight broke out between their frontman Dryden Mitchell and their would-be tourmates CKY. Having been booted from the remaining UK and European dates, it has now been confirmed that CKY are also off the Australian tour as well – with Drowning Pool replacing them.

“We are immensely grateful to Drowning Pool for altering personal and professional schedules to join this tour as a co-headliner – helping us to not only maintain, but improve the value of the tickets for fans attending the shows,” said tour promoter John Howarth in a press statement. The tour will mark Drowning Pool’s first time in Australia since 2016, which marked only their second tour following their debut as part of the 2002 Big Day Out festival – which Alien Ant Farm also played.

Drowning Pool – ‘Sinner’

In response to being kicked off the Alien Ant Farm tour, CKY’s Chad I Ginsburg – the party who allegedly punched Mitchell in the face – took to Instagram in a since-deleted statement claiming that he acted in self defense. “I had no choice, and good reason for what happened,” he wrote. “I will always defend myself. You know me much better than that! More info to come, apologies to the fans.” He later posted screenshots of Mitchell allegedly using racial slurs, which were also deleted.

Melbourne metal veterans Frankenbok are set to support the co-headlining tour for all dates (which can be viewed below), except Perth – where they will be joined by local metal band Ratking. Since Drowning Pool were last in Australia, they have parted ways with their fourth vocalist Jason Moreno and reunited with their third, SOiL’s Ryan Combs – who performed with them originally from 2005 to 2011. Their last album with Moreno, Strike A Nerve, was released in September of 2022.
