Coheed and Cambria announce new album The Father of Make Believe
Following a playthrough of their 2005 LP, Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness, at When We Were Young and overseas in the U.K., Coheed and Cambria have announced their next project. The Father of Make Believe arrives March 14 via Virgin Music Group.
The album is set in the band’s The Amory Wars / Vaxis universe, and they’re also releasing a limited Vaxis Act III: The Father of Make Believe box set that includes the album on CD and digital formats, plus “Blind Side Sonny’s fully wearable and functional helmet and neuro-dynamic display goggles, Vaxis Act III: The Father of Make Believe hardcover illustrated novella coffee table book, neuro-dynamic display goggles app for display customization, 11.5” x 35” Vaxis III: The Father of Make Believe bedroom poster and a signed Death Certificate of Siv Trafinder.” Pre-orders are live now on the band’s website.
We’ve already heard “Blind Side Sonny,” which introduced a new villain into their The Amory Wars/Vaxis universe, and now the prog-metal outfit are previewing the album with their latest single “Searching for Tomorrow.” It comes with an animated video directed by Anthony Scheppard.

Coheed have a few dates lined up for 2025, including Tool’s destination festival in Punta Cana and their own S.S. Neverender cruise with Thursday, L.S. Dunes, Illuminati Hotties, Pool Kids, Zulu, Kaonashi, The Callous Daoboys, Meet Me @ The Altar, Puddles Pity Party, and more.
