Road Work: Lightning In A Bottle, Alison Krauss, C2C Fest

* Some of the most beloved names in electronic music will assemble at the Lightning in a Bottle festival, which will be held May 21-25, 2025, at southern California’s Buena Vista Lake. Among them: Underworld, Jamie xx, John Summit, Four Tet, Khruangbin, Channel Tres, Shygirl (presenting Club Shy), Monolink, Claude VonStroke, Magdalena Bay and Joy Orbison. The Do LaB-organized event sports staged dubbed Lightning, Woogie and Thunder, each with “its own unique aesthetic, vision and sound.”

* Alison Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas will hit the road for the first time in a decade next year as part of a 73-show run across North America. The tour begins April 17 in Louisville, Ky., and runs through Sept. 28 in Hollywood, Fl. Beyond Krauss and Douglas, the group will consist of vocalist/guitarist Russell Moore of IIIrd Tyme Out along with longtime members Ron Block and Barry Bales.

“I’m so grateful to get to make music again with my comrades of 40 years,” says Krauss, who is also planning to release the first new Union Station music since 2011’s Paper Airplane. “They’ve always accomplished incredible work individually and have been constantly traveling because of it. We’re very inspired to experience this new exciting chapter in the band’s history.”

* Italy’s long-running C2C Festival will touch down in the United States for the first time on May 9, 2025, when it takes over Knockdown Center in Queens, N.Y., with a lineup led by Oneohtrix Point Never, Nala Sinephro, Two Shell, evilgiane and John Glacier. * Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio will hit the road for a solo acoustic tour next spring, starting March 8 in Springfield, Ma, and running through April 5 in Red Bank, N.J. The shows, which are the artist’s first in this format on a wide basis since 2019, follow Phish’s annual New Year’s run at New York’s Madison Square Garden, as well as the band’s destination festival, Riviera Maya, at Moon Palace Cancún from Jan. 29-Feb. 1, 2025.
