Jenna Bush Hager Jokes Hoda Kotb’s Dating Life Is Like This Ludacris Song

Hoda Kotb’s dating life reminded Jenna Bush Hager of a popular Ludacris song.

Bush Hager, 43, and Kotb, 60, were discussing relationships on the Wednesday, December 4 episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna when their conversation took a playful turn toward rap.

“Did you have a lot of relationships in your 20s?” Bush Hager asked Kotb, after revealing that her relationship with her husband was the most significant of her 20s.

Kotb explained that her career in local news had her “[moving] from city to city,” which meant dating someone wherever she lived at the time.

Bush Hager immediately quipped that Kotb’s response reminded her of Ludacris’ song “Area Codes.” The rapper’s 2001 track features the line, “I’ve got hoes in different area codes.”

“Ludacris is singing in my head, ‘cause you moved from city to city and you had somebody in a different area code,” the former first daughter joked.

Kotb took it in stride and laughed, prompting the show’s off-camera crew to join in.

“Well, you meet people, and then you get another job, so you have to leave!” Kotb responded, still laughing.

“So, you had men all over the country?” Bush Hager teased, drawing more laughs from the set. “You gotta go back and listen to ‘Area Codes!’”

Kotb has since settled into a quieter romantic life.

She was married to Burzis Kanga from 2005 to 2008 and dated Joel Schiffman for eight years before their breakup in 2022. The couple had adopted daughters Haley, 7, and Hope, 5, during their relationship.

Meanwhile, Bush Hager married Henry Hager in 2008, and together, they have three children, Mila, 11, Poppy, 9, and Hal, 5.
