Boomtown 2025: Sex Pistols & Frank Carter, Maribou State and Sean Paul lead first line-up

Sean Paul and the Sex Pistols featuring Frank Carter are amongst the first wave of names announced for Boomtown 2025.

Dubbed ‘Chapter 4: Power Of Now’, the 2025 edition of the music festival will kick off at Winchester’s Matterley Bowl on August 6 – 10, 2025, and you can find your tickets here.

Other acts named include Maribou State, Overmono, Hybrid Minds, Nia Archives, Azealia Banks and Rudim3ntal, with today’s (December 6) announcement marking the first time in five years Boomtown has released a preview of their line-up before a two week window ahead of the festival – watch the official trailer below.

Other artists appearing include The Mary Wallopers, Boney M, Fat Dog, 4AM Kru, 999999999, Anfisa Letyago, The Blessed Madonna, Brass Against, Ferocious Dog, Girls Don’t Sync, Honey Dijon, Hot 8 Brass Brand, I Hate Models, James Hype, Jayda G, Joey Valance & Brae, Joy Orbison, Jyoty, Kenya Grace, Kurupt FM, Pa Salieu, The Wailers, The Wurzels and Nova Twins.

Over 600 artists are still to be announced, and those revealed in the first wave have been sharing their excitement about the upcoming fest. London duo Nova Twins said they were “so happy” to be returning, adding they had “so many amazing memories of this festival, on and off the stage”.

Hybrid Minds added: “Ever since we saw the first photos of Boomtown we have wanted to go. The site and stages always look epically immersive and we can’t wait to finally be a part of it.”

Organisers also announced that the 16th iteration of the event will see debut of the new Hydro stage, which will showcase the full spectrum of 4×4 music: house, techno, and disco. Elsewhere, they shared that the Origin stage will be reimagined as an ancient temple and renamed The Lions Gate.

Per the festival’s Instagram: “The City is starting to expand back out into the surrounding hills, valleys and woodland. Creating more space, more nature to walk through, more intrigue and more discovery.”
