This is Tour Diary, where artists give us a behind-the-scenes look at life on the road. Throughout October and November, hardcore heroes Bane toured relentlessly, bringing along their friends Stick To Your Guns, Terror, Desmadre, and more. The run also coincided with the 25th anniversary of their debut album, It All Comes Down To This, which was recently fully remixed and remastered — bringing fresh dimension to a hardcore essential. “It All Comes Down To This has always been my musical regret because of how bad the mix sounded,” guitarist Zach Jordan tells AP. “It was something I have been embarrassed about for 20-plus years… That all ended when Brian McTernan got his hands on the master files and put this new amazing mix into the world. I cried when I heard it for the first time because I couldn’t believe how unreal it now sounds. It’s magic to me that these are the same guitar tracks that I laid down 25 years ago that now sound like a wall of sound.” Relive the run below.

We always feel so lucky to have New York City lose its mind when we get up on that stage. We’ve been coming here since the CBGB days and feel like the luckiest band in the world to still be able to do it. / JC Carey

Stop over for a quick hang with our girls and boys in the Comeback Kid family! I think we have toured with Comeback Kid more than any other band in Bane history.

Hanging with friends backstage in Orange County before the gig — Oise [Ronsberger], the owner our European record label End Hits Records, Lou [Diamond Phillips] from La Bamba fame, and Dan Elswick, who put out the Bane documentary, Holding These Moments, a few years back. Some of our favorite people all in one room. This is what touring is all about to this band… Getting to see those long lost friends that you haven’t seen since the last time you came to town.

Visiting the Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas on a day off. Insane looking back at the history of all of these bands that we looked up to and how many cool memories are in this one place. / JC Carey

Sometimes you’re lucky enough to drive down the highway until you pass by the family truckster from the National Lampoon’s Vacation movies (Aunt Edna dead on the roof and all). You then sit in the van and yell at Aaron Dalbec to turn around so you can take a photo with it, causing you to be late to the show. He’s a good sport, and sometimes the show just has to wait.

Finally got back to 924 Gilman in Berkeley. This was the only must-have place to play on the entire tour. So happy that things lined up so that it could happen. / John Lacroix

Final day of tour photo with Stick To Your Guns, Dare, and Desmadre. This is always a tough one for us because we live for these bonds that we make out here with these other bands. Tour never seems to be long enough, and we always end up missing everyone the second we drive away. We love you all! Honorable mention: Crashing Forward and Combust, we love you too for doing this with us. You just weren’t present for the photo, and we are sorry! / JC Carey
