Jay-Z is suing Tony Buzbee, the attorney who filed rape allegations against him, in a 236-page lawsuit claiming extortion.

In Jay-Z’s recent filing against attorney Tony Buzbee — the lawyer representing over 200 alleged victims of Sean “Diddy” Combs, and who filed a lawsuit on behalf of a woman alleging she was also assaulted by Jay-Z — he revealed he was the anonymous celebrity who filed an extortion lawsuit against Buzbee back in November.

One of the accusers, a Jane Doe who was 13 years old in 2000 when she alleges she was raped by Combs at a VMAs afterparty, also claims she was assaulted by Jay-Z, real name Shawn Carter, who was initially identified as “Celebrity A” in her lawsuit. That filing was updated over the weekend to include the rapper and business mogul’s identity.

On Monday, Carter’s lawyer, Alex Spiro, filed a response requesting the court require Jane Doe, who is now 37 years old, to reveal her identity in order to proceed with litigation. Spiro also submitted a copy of the 236-page extortion lawsuit Carter filed against Buzbee last month. In the filing, Carter identified himself as a John Doe so as not to draw negative publicity.

Interestingly, that lawsuit reveals Buzbee has accused him of sexually assaulting a male minor in addition to the female alleging assault in her Jane Doe lawsuit. “Defendants have threatened to unleash entirely fabricated and malicious allegations of sexual assault — including multiple instances of rape of a minor, both male and female — against Plaintiff if he refuses to comply with their demands.”

“Plaintiff John Doe is the victim of a scheme by Defendant Anthony G. Buzbee and his firm […], who are shamelessly attempting to extort exorbitant sums from him or else publicly file wildly false horrific allegations against him,” the filing reads. “These baseless accusations are nothing more than a weapon in a calculated plot to destroy Plaintiff’s high-profile reputation for profit, despite the complete absence of any factual basis for such claims.”

Buzbee has denied any wrongdoing, and took to social media when the lawsuit was initially filed, and again on Sunday after Jay-Z was identified in his client’s updated lawsuit. In Buzbee’s recent post, he accused Jay-Z of inciting a campaign of “harassment” and “bullying” against himself and his family.

Jay-Z also included Buzbee’s post in his filing on Monday, citing it as an example of what he calls Buzbee’s attempts to blackmail and publicly embarrass him.
