Chris Thile and Punch Brothers Detail The Energy Curfew Music Hour’s Second Season, Dates and Tickets

Chris Thile and Punch Brothers have announced the return of The Energy Curfew Music Hour for the program’s second season. Once again, live events will occur at Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre in New York. Special guests will be announced soon. 

According to Punch Brothers, who publicized the program’s renewal on social media, the first show is slated for Saturday, January 11, 2025, followed by ensuing dates: Thursday, January 16; Thursday, February 13; Tuesday, February 18; and Monday, February 24. 

The multi-episode musical variety show featured eight episodes in its debut season. It presented a wide range of well-respected musical guests, such as James Taylor, Jason Isbell, Norah Jones, Jon Batiste and Kacey Musgraves. 

The concept behind the Energy Curfew Music Hour is to present an imagined near-future where electricity is rationed worldwide. In this realm, America has instituted a weekly “Energy Curfew,” when the grid goes down entirely for 24 hours to promote the unplugged life. The Energy Curfew Music Hour is an hour of music-driven revelry broadcast across the nation an hour before the so-called lights go out. 

Created by mandolin-virtuoso Thile and his wife Claire Coffee, each episode of this entirely acoustic musical variety show is performed and recorded live with Punch Brothers, who will welcome special guests in a night of music and one-night-only collaboration.
