Dead Ahead, the Bobby Weir-hosted destination concert vacation, has tacked on a new participant for the January 9 through 13 return to Riviera Cancun, Mexico, and extended an invitation to Joe Russo’s Almost Dead guitarist, Tom Hamilton. A social post outlining his role conveyed that Hamilton will appear on stage through the weekend, including late-night sets with his band and a solo daytime frame poolside. As an added note of participation, he will also join Oteil & Friends.

Apart from Hamilton’s inclusion, the five-night event will feature on-stage collaborations from Weir’s festival-specific ensemble: Sturgill Simpson, Rick Mitarotonda, Jeff Chimenti, Oteil Burbridge, Don Was, and Jay Lane, featuring Brittney Spencer, and Grace Bowers, with special guest  Brandi Carlile.

In addition to the artists above, the event is slated to include added performances by Simpson, Oteil & Friends–performing two sets, one of which will pay homage to the Jerry Garcia Band, with choice covers. Also featured on the lineup are Trampled by Turtles, who have signed on to perform Old & in The Way. Separate sets will also arrive from Neal Francis and Joy Oladokun.

Dead Ahead ticket and festival packages remain on sale. For more information, visit www.deadaheadfestival.com.
