Viewers react to “worst contestant” Jools Holland’s appearance on ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?’
Jools Holland has been branded the “worst contestant” by viewers after he appeared on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?.
Host Jeremy Clarkson welcomed the musician and broadcaster to the ITV show last night (December 29) for this year’s celebrity special.
Viewers had high hopes for Holland but he struggled to reach the £1,000 mark, calling in his ask-the-audience and phone-a-friend lifelines for his fourth and fifth questions.
He was heavily criticised by viewers with one fan writing: “Jools Holland might be the worst contestant in Millionaire history. Two lifelines on the first 5 questions.”
Another added: “Wow. It’s a good job Jools can play the piano well because he’s bloody useless at this….”

When he was asked to draw on his film knowledge for a question on the Alfred Hitchcock classic Psycho, Holland called a friend, who pushed him towards the correct answer.
This led one viewer to write: “I love Jools Holland but frickin eck , if you have to call a friend to answer the question about what Psycho is about, Who wants to be a millionaire is not for you.”

Elsewhere, the musician struggled to guess which member of the Spice Girls shared a maiden name with two former US Presidents.
This surprised viewers after he previously appeared in the 1997 Spice Girls movie Spice World as a musical director.
