Brian Eno Documentary Receives 24-Hour Streaming Window

The widely acclaimed Brian Eno documentary, a theatrical experience where no two experiences are the same, is slated to get an at-home run time. However, this streaming experience will only be available for a short timeframe: a 24-hour livestream event beginning on January 24, 2025, at noon E.T.

Arriving from Film First and director Gary Hustwiz, the occasion will offer fans of the pioneering ambient artist a rare opportunity to experience a career-spanning retelling of the lauded artist from the comfort of home after Eno premiered at 2024’s Sundance Film Festival. Following the annual Utah event, the film appeared in theaters and at live screenings. The film’s global streaming premiere announcement coincides with the first trailer release. Watch below.

According to the press release, the livestream event goes beyond typical movie parameters due in part to the director’s commitment to deciphering Eno’s creative strategies through the lens of a music documentary. “Hustwit and digital artist Brendan Dawes developed a groundbreaking, human-coded generative software platform to create a documentary that is different every time it screens,” the bulletin states.

In addition to new technologies, Eno features never-before-seen footage and unreleased music while ushering in a new way of telling stories and presenting scenarios from the artist’s life. The livestream event will run for 24 hours only, “with multiple unique versions of the documentary generated around the clock,” offering multiple film iterations and bonus generative videos such as “Nothing Can Ever Be the Same,” the Venice Biennale Eno prequel installation from Dawes and Hustwit.

Tickets are required for streaming access and can be purchased here.
