Listen to Architects “at their most ferocious” on new single ‘Blackhole’
Architects have shared their throttling new single ‘Blackhole’ – watch the explosive video for the track below.
The song is the fourth to be lifted from the Brighton metalcore outfit’s forthcoming album ‘The Sky, The Earth & All Between’, following their previous singles ‘Whiplash’, ‘Curse‘ and ‘Seeing Red‘. You can pre-order/pre-save it here.
The cinematic video for the track, which sees the band on an oil rig which is constantly getting smashed by flying objects, was shot in California. You can view it below.
Frontman Sam Carter said: “So excited to have ‘Blackhole’ out, it’s one of my favourite songs from the album. The video is equally as intense as the song. We filmed the video at such a wild location and we really are at the top of those buildings that you see. This is Architects at our most ferocious.”
Set for release on February 28, ‘The Sky, The Earth & All Between’ follows the band’s 2022 album ‘The Classic Symptoms Of A Broken Spirit’, also marking their first LP since the departure of guitarist Josh Middleton.
Speaking about their forthcoming record, drummer Dan Searle, recently told NME: “The last couple of albums have been more introspective – there’s still some of that on the material that we have coming – but it’s more about the world around us. People like to think that every single song of ours is about climate change, even when we’re writing songs about mental health.”
Carter added: “I think Architects at their best is me being really pissed off. That’s something we’ve really locked in, our unique thing [is that] nobody sounds quite as pissed off as I do when I’m yelling. That’s been apparent since I was a kid – I’ve always been yelling, I have a potty mouth.”
The band are set to embark on a series of European tour dates kicking off in Lille on March 10, along with support slots with Linkin Park.
When asked about plans for a UK tour, Searle recently told NME: “It’s certainly overdue, it’s been nearly three years since we last headlined. We’ve got a strange relationship with playing the UK, because we spend so much time touring abroad. I think we forgot where we stood in the UK… you can lose touch with what the band means here.
“I don’t know when the dates are, but we will be back in the UK to do a big headline tour.”
