NOS Alive adds Sam Fender and Bright Eyes to 2025 line-up

NOS Alive has confirmed that Sam Fender and Bright Eyes have joined the 2025 line-up. Find out more below.

Set to be held in Lisbon between July 10 and July 12, the 2025 event will mark the 17th edition of the festival.

The first wave of artists was confirmed in November, when Olivia Rodrigo was named the first confirmed headliner for 2025. Other huge names included Girl In Red, Kings Of Leon, Noah Kahan, Benson Boone, Amyl And The Sniffers and CMAT.

Later, Barry Can’t Swim, Finneas, Dead Poet Society and Foster The People were also confirmed.

Now, in the latest update from the festival, it has been confirmed that Geordie singer, songwriter and guitarist Sam Fender will also be added to the bill. He is set to make his debut at the Portugal festival on the main NOS Stage on July 11.

His name being added to the line-up comes as he is currently gearing up to release his highly-anticipated third album ‘People Watching’. It is set to be shared on February 21 via Polydor, and you can pre-order/pre-save here.

The LP was first announced back in November with the title track ‘People Watching‘, and Fender also went on to announce details of some huge UK stadium shows for this summer.

The second of the new artists confirmed for NOS Alive 2025 is the American indie rock trio Bright Eyes. Conor Oberst and co. are set to make their first appearance at the festival on July 12, where they’ll take to the Heineken Stage.

For Bright Eyes, the announcement comes following them sharing details of their 10th studio album ‘Five Dice, All Threes’ last year.

NOS Alive 2024 saw performances from Pearl Jam, Dua Lipa, The Smashing Pumpkins, Sum 41, Arlo Parks and more.

For Sam Fender, the announcement follows him hinting at new music since March last year. Then, in October Fender confirmed that the new album was finished and “mastered”.

‘People Watching’ will be his first LP since 2021’s sophomore album ‘Seventeen Going Under’ and was produced by Fender alongside his bandmates Dean Thompson and Joe Atkinson, producer Markus Dravs and The War On Drugs’ Adam Granduciel.

His aforementioned UK headline shows will kick off with his biggest-ever show at London Stadium on June 6, before continuing in his Newcastle hometown at St. James’ Park on June 12, 14 and 15. For the latter, the musician played that same 52,000-capacity venue back in 2023. The three upcoming gigs will mean that he has broken the record for most headline shows at St James’ Park – the title was previously held by The Rolling Stones. Last month, Fender’s concert in Leeds was given a four-star review by NME, which read: “There’s no radical shake-up of the setlist, but rather a sense of self-confidence to double down on a reliable approach that’s served him well.

“While tonight affirms that ‘People Watching’ material will have to fight for its place, a successful balance of old and new could hoist Sam Fender’s career to unprecedented heights. Glastonbury, anyone?”

For Bright Eyes, the appearance at NOS Alive is one of their first to be confirmed since the US indie rock band announced that they would be cancelling all 2024 shows due to frontman Conor Oberst losing his voice.
