Gibson and Jim James have partnered to release the My Morning Jacket frontman’s signature guitar. The ES-335 model came out in 1958 and has served as James’ go-to guitar for much of his career.

“I am beyond honored and excited to be able to collaborate with the team at @gibsonguitar to create the guitar of my dreams,” wrote James on social media.

The Gibson Jim James ES-335 is a walnut hollow body standard with duel pickups and tone controls that are hardwired. It features a mahogany Slimtaper neck with an Indian rosewood fretboard and has an owl emblem on the back of the headstock along with a Jim James logo on the truss rod cover.

James who is ever passionate about music education and supporting community organizations has dedicated a portion of all proceeds from the sale of the Jim James ES-335 guitar to Gibson Gives. Gibson Gives is a 501(c)(3) organization and serves as Gibson’s philanthropic arm. Their aim is to create opportunities for youth and students to have access to creating music.

In conjunction with the release of the guitar, Gibson shared a music video illustrated by Rotter and Friends and animated by Andrew DeSelm featuring My Morning Jackets track “In Color” – Watch below:
