Over the weekend, Green Day headlined both nights of the When We Were Young festival in Las Vegas. During the band’s Sunday set performance, they debuted a new song titled “Look Ma, No Brains.” Performed early in the set after “Boulevard of Broken Dream,” the uptempo, angsty pop-punk song fits right at home in the band’s catalog. “Don’t know much about history, cause I never learned how to read/Dropout I’m a knucklehead, sick boy I’m a shit the bed,” sings Billie Joe Armstrong.

On Thursday the band played an intimate show at Fremont Country Club in downtown Las Vegas. There, Green Day debuted “The American Dream Is Killing Me” and performed it again on Saturday night. The band released both new tracks as a seven-inch single that was sold at the festival over the weekend. Earlier this year, the band debuted “1981” at a festival in Quebec.

Also at their Fremont Country Club show, Green Day performed their 1994 album Dookie in full and announced they’ll be performing in stadiums next summer with Smashing Pumpkins, Rancid and the Linda Lindas.

The band is expected to release a new album soon and is their first since 2020’s Father of All
