In a much-anticipated comeback, the renowned pop-rock sensation Hootie & the Blowfish have announced they’ll hit the road in 2024 with their Summer Camp with Trucks Tour. Produced by Live Nation, the tour promises to be a musical journey featuring special guests Collective Soul and Edwin McCain.
The iconic quartet, comprised of Mark Bryan, Dean Felber, Darius Rucker, and Jim “Soni” Sonefeld, originally formed during their college years at the University of South Carolina. Now, they are back in action, preparing to take on 43 cities across the United States and Canada. This marks the first extensive tour for the band since 2019.
“Basically overnight, our lives changed when ‘Cracked Rear View’ did what it did,” Bryan reflected in a press release. “And yet, as we quickly moved from vans and college bars to tour buses and arenas, not much else changed with how we approached making music and sharing it with our fans. Edwin McCain told someone at the time that touring with us felt like summer camp with trucks… and that’s exactly how we want next year to feel, too. We can’t wait for you to join us!”
The tour is scheduled to kick off on May 30 in Dallas and will continue until Sept. 28 in West Palm Beach, Fla. The band will perform at various venues, including arenas, amphitheaters, and select stadiums like Boston’s iconic Fenway Park (with special guests Barenaked Ladies). The tour will also feature a homecoming event at Columbia, S.C.’s Colonial Life Arena for Gamecock alumni.
General ticket sales will commence on Friday, Nov. 10, at 10 a.m. local time through Hootie.com. For Hootie & the Blowfish e-newsletter subscribers, presale access begins on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 12 p.m. local time and runs until Thursday, Nov. 9, at 10 p.m. local time.
