YouTube Music Recap 2023 Is Live — Here’s How You Can Access and Share the Yearend Listenership Summary
Following the release of Spotify Wrapped and Apple Music Replay, YouTube Music Recap 2023 is officially live.
Here’s a quick look at YouTube Music Recap, including how to access the personalized yearend listenership breakdown and share it with others.
How Do I Access YouTube Music Recap 2023?
YouTube Music has brought its annual summary, complete with total listening time, top artists and songs, custom album artwork, and more, to a dedicated in-app page that can be reached with a tap.
Alternatively, you can navigate to Recap 2023 by selecting your profile picture (located in the top-right corner of the homepage) and tapping the “Your Recap” option on the resulting list.
For those who prefer to use YouTube proper, the identical experience is available through the video-sharing platform via a different Recap page.
This page can be found by heading to youtube.com/musicrecap or by searching for “recap.” After doing the latter, you’ll see options to save the playlist of your top songs of 2023 and view the full Recap video.
Do I Need a Subscription to Access Recap?
You don’t need a subscription to access YouTube Music’s annual recap. Rather, the listening summary is live for everyone, including YouTube Premium and Music subscribers as well as ad-supported users.
Why Can’t I See My Recap?
You might be unable to see your Recap due to insufficient listening time for 2023. In order to generate a user’s Recap, YouTube requires “at least 4 hours of music listening time each season across” its platforms.
Additionally, Recap will be unavailable if you “have autodelete set up for activity older than 3 months,” according to Google/YouTube, and might be temporarily unavailable if you’ve recently deleted or edited your YouTube watch history.
Lastly, you’ll need the latest version of the YouTube or YouTube Music app to see your Recap; try updating if you can’t view the breakdown.
How Do I Share My Recap?
As is also the case with Spotify’s Wrapped and Apple Music’s Replay, YouTube Music’s Recap is designed to be shared.
You can share your Recap playlist just like you would regular playlists. Tap the three-dot menu next to the collection of songs in YouTube Music’s app, select the “share” option, and follow the on-screen prompts.
Meanwhile, YouTube Music users can download photo cards of their playlists through the arrow icon on the Recap page, texting the images or exporting them to social platforms from there. You can share Recap story cards from YouTube and YouTube Music alike in the same way.
