What is the Net Worth of Jason Aldean?—2024 Estimates
Despite his share of controversies over the years, Jason Aldean has had a highly prolific career in country music. But just what is the country singer’s net worth?
Jason Aldean signed to Broken Bow Records in 2005 and has produced eleven albums and released 40 singles. He’s received five Grammy Award nominations throughout his career, twice for Best Country Album. His 2012 album Night Train is certified double-platinum by the RIAA, while Jason Aldean (2005), Relentless (2007), Wide Open (2009), and Old Boots, New Dirt (2014) are all certified platinum. That measurable success has led to a high net worth, but not without controversy.
Who is Jason Aldean?
Jason Aldean was born in Macon, Georgia in 1977. He was raised by his mother after his parents separated, spending time with his father in Homestead, Florida. Aldean shared that his father would map out guitar chords on notebook paper to show his son where to place his fingers—so he could practice while his dad was at work.
Aldean has said he knew from age 14 that he wanted to perform on stage after watching the Country Music Awards. His stage name Jason Aldean takes inspiration from his middle name ‘Aldine.’
His career kicked off with a move to Nashville and frustration at not finding success before Broken Bow Records offered him a deal. In 2005, he released his single “Hicktown” as the lead off for his self-titled debut album. He achieved his first #1 hit with the song, “Why.” Aldean earned the title ‘Top New Male Vocalist’ at the 2006 ACM Awards and he was off to the races.
Jason Aldean Controversies
As a rising star in the country music industry, Jason Aldean isn’t without his share of controversy. One of the first to strike his career was paparazzi photographing him kissing ‘American Idol’ contestant Brittany Kerr, cheating on his high-school sweetheart wife Jessica Ussery—ending a 12-year marriage in the process. In 2012, Aldean spoke with ‘Good Morning America’ about how that went down.
“I think the biggest thing is, you know, obviously there was things going on in my marriage at the time where it just wasn’t really happy,” Aldean said at the time. “And you go out and you kind of let your guard down a little bit and things happen and unfortunately—it’s tough.” Aldean apologized publicly to his wife, saying he had too much to drink. Seven months after those photos, Aldean and Ussery announced their divorce.
In 2015, he sparked another backlash when he wore blackface for Halloween, dressing as Lill Wayne. “Me doing that had zero malicious intent,” Aldean told Billboard. “I get that race is a touchy subject, but not everybody is that way.” Media tends to make a big deal out of things. If that was disrespectful to anyone, I by all means apologize. That was never my intention.”
That same year, following a racially motivated mass shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, several country artists dropped the Confederate flag and Dixie imagery from their merchandise. Aldean continues to wear the flag on-stage and at events, and in 2018 offered official tour merch featuring the flag.
How much does he make? What’s Jason Aldean’s net worth?
It’s hard to estimate net worth without viewing financial documents, but we do know a little bit about how much the singer earns per show. Aldean wrapped his “Highway Desperado” tour that kicked off in Bethel, NY in October 2023. The overall gross reported from that 42-date tour is $39.5 million with 628,966 tickets sold. According to those estimates, Aldean pulled in around $1 million per show in 2023.
Zooming out the scope a tad reveals a bit more about his live tour gross. Billboard estimates Jason Aldean has grossed $362.8 million, serving up 7.5 million tickets across 539 shows. Those are impressive numbers, but that gross divided by total shows puts Aldean’s gross per show around $673K. His biggest tour was his “Burn It Down” tour, which grossed $70 million across 123 shows for an average gross of $569,105 per show.
Adding up the money to be made from his live tours, festival appearances, recorded music, real estate, and other investments, Forbes pegs the country star Jason Aldean net worth to be in the $80 million to $90 million range. He’s been active since 2005 with a career spanning eighteen years of serving up country music America seems to love.
