The Kid Laroi Abruptly Postpones Australia, New Zealand Tour Dates — ‘It’s Proving to Be Logistically Impossible’
The Kid Laroi has delayed the Oceania leg of his First Time Tour until October, indicating that the originally selected February dates had proven “logistically impossible” to execute.
Waterloo, New South Wales-born Kid Laroi (real name Charlton Howard) revealed the retooled schedule for his “first ever stadium tour” on social media, and the appropriate Ticketek page has been updated to reflect the development.
Initially expected to kick off in Melbourne on February 2nd, the concert series is also set to reach Perth, Adelaide, Parramatta, Gold Coast, and Auckland, New Zealand. Now, though, these stops have been pushed back to October, with the 20-year-old artist signaling in a brief statement that information about the new schedule is forthcoming.
“We tried to make February work but it’s proving to be logistically impossible,” The Kid Laroi communicated. “I’m sorry to make you wait a bit longer but we will need to move the tour to October. We’re working on the details including some new additions to the line up and will let you know ASAP.”
In a separate message, published this time on social media, the F*ck Love creator elaborated that he and his team had been unable to finalize “a really big surprise & special guest” prior to the original February dates. “The tour will now end off in Australia,” The Kid Laroi further penned.
Already-purchased tickets will be valid for the rescheduled concerts, and ticketholders “will be contacted with new show dates in due course,” according to the Ticketek listing. Would-be attendees can also request refunds for their passes.
A message above the corresponding page shows that the ticketing company is receiving a “large number of requests” for refunds and that it’s taking “longer than usual to respond” as a result.
Expanding upon the point, according to the seating maps for multiple First Time Tour stops, a good number of tickets, including general admission passes and their A$799.90 meet-and-greet VIP counterparts, remained available at the time of this writing.
On social media, Aussie and Kiwi fans are weighing in on the postponement, with some venting about their bad luck in attending the “Too Much” act’s live performances.
“i swear I have the worst luck with the kid laroi concerts bc the first time I went last year he postponed while everyone was at the venue & now he’s postponing his tour that’s supposed to be in Feb till October,” one supporter wrote of the delay.
