A Timeline of Don Toliver & Kali Uchis’ Relationship

Emergency flares were launched into the sky, as fans sounded the alarms after Kali Uchi appeared in not one but two music videos in back-to-back months of 2021 leading into Toliver’s Life of a DON sophomore album.

Both the “What You Need” and “Drugs N Hella Melodies” were shot in Uchis’ family’s home country of Colombia, and the latter sent the relationship rumor mill swirling in regards to them dating as they bathed together in the steamy clip.

Don Toliver reluctantly admitted that he was in a relationship when he confirmed the Kali Uchis dating rumors in an interview with W Magazine. “We’re not crazy public or nothing like that. We just vibe,” he said at the time. 

He briefly expanded on his 2021 trip to Colombia with his girlfriend, where he had the chance to meet some of the Uchis family tree still living in the country “I already had it in my mind to go out there and shoot a video with her incorporated into it, to make it a real-deal situation,” Toliver added. 

Toliver and Uchis made their red carpet debut stunning as a couple at the 64th Annual Grammy Awards, where the Latina singer’s Sin Miedo (Del Amor Y Otros Demonios) album was nominated. KU opted for a sleek olive corset dress while the Cactus Jack rapper donned a Black suit.

Kali Uchis put together a compilation video featuring intimate moments and heartwarming smiles during her time with Toliver for the Houston native’s 28th birthday. The highlight reel could have served as a credits scene from a cute 2000s rom-com.

“Happy birthday baby!!” she penned. “May the blessings multiply every year & may you continue to be divinely guided through it all. I thank God for the day your love came into my life.”

With Uchis and Toliver born a month apart, the latter has his work cut out for him annually to one-up his girlfriend.

Don returned the favor when lending an assist on his boo’s affectionate “Fantasy,” which landed on Kali Uchis’ Red Moon in Venus album. Toliver films his girlfriend seductively dancing around the bedroom in the official visualizer and admits he wants to become a dad during his tender verse.

“I’ll do it all again just to see your face/ I’m really winning living happily/ This here my fantasy/ I wanna start me a family,” he testifies.

Don Toliver joined The Breakfast Club for an interview on the heels of his Love Sick album. Toliver got candid about his relationship and admitted that while fans might see the highlight reel, there are times that aren’t all “peaches and cream.”

“When you in a relationship, sometimes it’s not peaches and cream,” he said. “Sometimes y’all busy, y’all schedules conflict, y’all might be arguing about the littlest and dumbest things. It’s a lot of stuff that goes on that makes a relationship tougher than it is sometimes.”

At other points in the interview, the “After Party” artist spoke on how this is the most “invested” he’s ever been in a relationship and thinks he found the “one” when it comes to the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with.

“Yes I would love it,” Toliver said when asked if he wanted to get married in the future. “If you’ve been with somebody for two to three years-plus that me and my girl going on, you kinda know if really you want to be with them. That’s kinda how I feel like, ‘We here.’”

Uchis drew a roar out of the Valley crowd when she brought Don Toliver out at Coachella 2023 to perform their mushy “Fantasy” collab. Things got hot and steamy for a moment when Kali backed up her short denim mini-skirt and grinded on DT’s mauve suit shorts.

Kali Uchis shocked fans when sharing the joyous news along with her baby bump. The pregnancy reveal post from Uchis and Don was accompanied by a heart-melting clip featuring Toliver kissing on her stomach. “Awww, look how much your daddy loves you, little pooks! He’ll love you forever,” Uchis gushed. The sweet video also included cute footage of both of the future parents when they were babies.

“Starting our family,” the couple captioned the visual. “don’t take too long to get here little pooks, mom & dad can’t wait to share our life with you.” Tons of love poured in from their music peers as Becky G, Snoh Aalegra, BIA, Janelle Monae, Saweetie and more shared their excitement in the IG comment section.

The gender or due date for the baby isn’t known as of early February but Toliver revealed to TMZ that the child’s name will be a “collaborative” effort and relate to both mom and dad.
