A ‘Yacht Rock’ Resurgence? Toto, Christopher Cross, and Men at Work Tee Up North American Tour for Summer 2025
Another day, another major tour announcement – this time from Toto, Christopher Cross, and Men at Work, who are preparing to deliver “several dozen” performances across North America next summer.
Those acts formally revealed the joint tour moments ago, as Coheed and Cambria and Mastodon unveiled a separate 2025 concert series of their own.
Keeping the focus on the former shows, the current schedule will see Toto, 73-year-old Christopher Cross, and Men at Work (featuring founding member Colin Hay and a five-musician touring lineup) kick off their tour in West Palm Beach on July 18th, 2025.
Far from confining the tour to a few key markets, the professionals are expected to visit at least another 22 states from there: Alabama, Georgia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Ohio, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, Michigan, Virginia, North Carolina, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, California, Utah, and Washington (including at its state fair).
On the “at least” front, the artists and Live Nation have indicated that the tour will encompass the initially mentioned “several dozen” shows when all is said and done.
As things stand, the “Africa,” “Down Under,” and “Sailing” creators have disclosed 28 stops, with additional appearances slated for announcement “shortly,” per the promoter. In any event, the last of the stops will arrive on August 30th in Ridgefield, Washington.
Regarding ticketing, the involved talent and organizers have scheduled a Citi cardholder presale for 10 AM local time tomorrow, December 11th. The general onsale, for its part, will initiate at 10 AM local time this coming Friday, December 13th.
“I am thrilled about this tour,” weighed in Toto founding member Steve Lukather. “Christopher and Colin have been close friends of mine for a long time. This is a tour that musically works, and brings a fresh new Summer tour package to the circuit. I could not be more thrilled an idea that germinated months ago was able to take flight and become a reality.”
Regarding the timing of that reality, HBO Max’s recently released Yacht Rock: A DOCKumentary prominently spotlights both Toto and Cross. Though the well-received film doesn’t dive into the contributions of Men at Work, it’s safe to say yacht owners wouldn’t be opposed to hosting performances from the nearly half-century-old act.
Meanwhile, Cross and Toto played the Hollywood Bowl together this past September and will also embark on a European series next year. That includes February and March stops in the U.K., Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg (population 669,000), France, Switzerland, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, and Finland.
