The “Calling” architect’s record has seen its fair share of high-profile lyrical combinations time and time again, touting the likes of Ryan Tedder, Tove Lo, Hailee Steinfeld and Florida Georgia Line, with Liam Payne most recently joining that star-studded lineup. But Katy Perry now emphatically waves the collaborative flag that bears Alesso’s largest musical counterpart throughout his decade-plus career. “When I’m Gone” resolves as a seamless—yet unexpected—house-pop match made in heaven, linking together two legendary names to already rig the new year with its first crossover anthem. The duo’s music video is scheduled to be unveiled on ESPN amidst the upcoming 2022 College Football National Championship game on Monday, January 10.
