Alice Cooper and Slash team up for motorcycle-themed kids song ‘Freewheelin”

Alice Cooper, his daughter Calico, and Slash have teamed up for their motorcycle-themed kids song ‘Freewheelin”.

The high-energy track sees Alice and Calico sing “I’m freewheelin’ on my new bike / It’s the best thing that I like / Now you’re freewheelin’ riding by yourself / Pedalling faster without any help,” describing the joys of riding a bike while Slash throws in an electrifying guitar solo.

‘Freewheelin” is featured in the Grammy-nominated Rock for Children album ‘Solid Rock Revival’. Rock for Children is a music collective which is comprised of both Alice and his daughter as well as Sharon Aguilar-Kamide, Dana Kamide, Ms. Meka Nism, Recker Eans, Conrad Varela, John David Williams, and Rubén Salas.

‘Solid Rock Revival’ was nominated for Best Children’s Music Album at the 2025 Grammy Awards and features the likes of Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, Run DMC‘s Daryl “DMC” McDaniels and more. Proceeds from the LP benefit Cooper’s Solid Rock Teen Centers – a nonprofit organisation providing free after-school training in music, dance, art, and more for teens ages 12-20.

Speaking about the Grammy nomination with the Arizona Republic, Alice shared: “Would it not be the craziest thing for Alice Cooper to get a Grammy for children’s music?”

He continued: “I think it really says something to [the kids]. We’ve got an album that could win a Grammy … It’s just a really cool thing for kids to see success happen, just the smallest seed growing into something that big. Sometimes the things you do for the fun of it turn out really, really good.”

In other news, Cooper was recently announced as an opening act for My Chemical Romance’s 2025 US stadium tour.

A notably divisive choice, some fans were critical based on comments the shock rocker made last year where he said that being transgender was mostly “a fad”.

“i know everyone’s excited about MCR but it is unbelievably disappointing to see them putting Alice Cooper on one of the show considering his transphobic beliefs,” one fan wrote on X/Twitter.

Others weren’t so opposed to it. “Gosh dang MCR with Alice Cooper. The people of Philadelphia are some lucky kiddos.,” another fan said.
