Angels & Airwaves announce exclusive NFT livestream ‘LIFEFORMS’ concert

Even though their Lifeforms tour is sold out and the U.S. leg is coming to an end, Angels & Airwaves have announced a special new one-off livestream show. 

Teaming up with Supersphere and Eluvio LIVE, the performance will air Nov. 9 as the band performs songs from LIFEFORMS, their first album in seven years, along with other material.

“We’re trying to do something special for this album and build an entire world for people to interact with,” Tom DeLonge says. “We’ve always seen new technologies as opening up new opportunities, and we hope this experience is only the start of a new way to connect deeply with our fans.”

However, the show will be more than just a normal livestream event. Angels & Airwaves have also coordinated with Eluvio to turn each ticket into an exclusive NFT. These tickets will give fans exclusive content such as special shows, music, merch and any other ideas the band think up.

Ticketing and streaming platform Eluvio is the reason Angels & Airwaves are able to offer this groundbreaking experience. With their technology, the site is able to stream 4k live video built on blockchain, which is how they are able to turn the tickets into NFTs.

“By tying streaming and blockchain capabilities together we’re helping create more creative possibilities, revenue opportunities and possibilities for fan engagement,” Dan Vecchi, Eluvio Head of BD and Partnerships Americas, says. “ We can’t wait to watch and support Angels & Airwaves as they bring their artistry and sound to fans around the world.”

The band posted their announcement on Instagram, writing, “We’re adding ONE MORE show to 2021. Watch our special set and final #LIFEFORMS tour performance of the year, with an exclusive 4K streamed show on 11/9 at 6pm PT.”
