Apple Music Classical is available in Japan, China, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau

The standalone Apple Music Classical app is now available in Japan, Korea, China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan. Apple Music subscribers in these countries can now download the app at no extra cost.

Apple introduced its Apple Music Classical app after acquiring Primephonic and repurposing many of its features under Apple’s umbrella. It offers a fully optimized search tailored for finding classical music. It also features hundreds of curated playlists, thousands of exclusive recordings, and deep-dive guides for many key works.

The ability to browse classical works by composer, work, conductor, instrument, periods, orchestra or choir, and find those specific recordings instantly is what sets the app apart from traditional music streaming services.

The interface is designed for displaying classical music with complete and accurate metadata—with Apple boasting it now features a catalog of over 5 million works. Many of those works are available in the highest quality audio (up to 192 kHz/24 bit Hi-Res Lossless), with ‘thousands’ available in spatial audio.

Exclusive content from the ambassador artists and partner organizations will be continually made available on the app, alongside exclusive curated playlists from Belle Chen, Yo-Yo Ma, Yunchan Lim, Alice Sara Ott, and Yaffle, and classical sessions with Cocomi, Esmé Quartet, Mao Fujita, Wang Yue Han, Chang Jing, and Lang Lang.
