Austin Psych Fest Unveils 2025 Artist Lineup: Dinosaur Jr., Yo La Tengo, Kim Gordon, Darkside, Godspeed You! Black Emperor and More

The Reverberation Appreciation Society has officially unveiled the initial artist lineup for Austin Psych Fest, set to stage at Austin, Texas’ Far Out Lounge from April 25-27. Continuing the legacy of outstanding gatherings that earn Austin’s reputation as the Live Music Capitol of the World, the beloved event has once again pulled together a bill that represents the diverse and changing face of psychedelia today. The 29 diverse acts booked for the 14th annual event so far are among the foremost voices in rock, led by headliners Explosions in the Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Darkside, Kim Gordon, STRFKR, Dinosaur Jr. and Yo La Tengo.

Austin Psych Fest 2025 will commence on Friday, April 25, with a lineup rooted in the cutting edge of post-rock. Early sets from Western psych innovators Jesse Sykes & the Sweet Hereafter and Federale and experimentalists Blackwater Holylight and The Octopus Project will precede Kadavar and Black Mountain. Day one will culminate in headline sets from Godspeed You! Black Emperor–whose recent studio album ranked high among the best post-rock of 2024–and Explosions in the Sky, 

On Saturday, the festival will skew more towards indie favorites throughout the program. The second day of performances will commence with stagings from Windows, Alex Maas, Dummy, Wombo, Corridor and Color Green, who recently sat down for a profile in the July-August issue of Relix. Genre-bending industrial singer-songwriter Sasami and former acclaimed former Black Midi frontman Geordie Greep will pave the way to for the headliners: indie darlings STRFKR, recently Grammy-nominated Sonic Youth alum Kim Gordon and Darkside, the newly revived trio of Nicolás Jaar, Dave Harrington and Tlacael Esparza.

Come Sunday, Austin Psych Fest will present a closing bill helmed by longtime alt-rock legends. After sets from Holy Wave, King Hannah, The Mystery Lights and Dean Wareham, who will play the music of his iconic former group Galaxie 500, the final day will what up with sets from surf-psych torchbearers La Luz, Peruvian cumbia outfit Los Mirlos and revived London alternative quartet Bôa. The festival will culminate in sets from legendary jam-scene favorites Yo La Tengo and Dinosaur Jr., who will perform their 1994 album Without a Sound to celebrate its 30th anniversary.
