Ben Harper and Mad Bunny Records Share Sonic Chapters Volume 1

Today, Ben Harper and his label Mad Bunny Records will release the first volume of their Sonic Chapters series exclusively on Relix’s YouTube Channel at 4:00 p.m. EST. The intimate performances feature Hey, King!, Birdthrower, Harris, The Cush, Jake Etheridge and Harper himself. The clips were recorded in the artists’ homes and personal rehearsal spaces.

In an interview with Relix, Harper expressed his intentions behind his new directorial role. “I have no illusions of being a record mogul,” Harper said. “However, there’s too much extraordinary music coming through my eardrums that’s is in need of a boost. It’s deserving of a platform.”

Sonic Chapters Volume 1 serves as Harper’s first attempt to achieve his noble pursuit and to call it a success is an understatement. The video showcases not only the exceptional musical skill of a wide variety of artists but also offers an intimate and grounded, albeit effortless, look into their personalities.

“What’s great about Mad Bunny is that it’s passion for the arts first, business second,” Harper continued. “This is much more than a business for us, and I think our artists can feel that.”
