Big Thief have released two more new singles off of their upcoming album Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You, which is set to release on Feb. 11 via 4AD. The two tracks, which are titled “No Reason” and “Spud Infinity,” follow a string of songs off the album, all of which display the band’s distinct chemistry and several which have topped many “best of 2021” lists.

Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You was recorded over four sessions, during the third, in the Rockie Mountains, the band heard a flute cascade down from a nearby lookout tower. They soon met the person who manifested the sound – musician Richard Hardy. Hardy had played on many records over the past 30 years, including several with Carole King. They invited him to sit in on some songs, and his flute playing makes “No Reason” yet another stand-out track.

The second single released today, “Spud Infinity,” is lyrically playful: “When I say infinity I mean now / Kiss the one you are right now / Kiss your body up and down other than your elbows / Cause as for your elbows they’re on their own.” The track features Noah Lenker, Adrianne Lanker’s younger brother, who plays on jaw harp and Mat Davidson on Fiddle.
