Big Zuu Is Serving Up A Very Merry Christmas
As we gear up for one of the biggest celebrations of the year – not to mention the most expensive! – a time where we all gather with our loved ones, eat lots of food and attempt to recover the next morning, it’s only right we caught up with one of Black British music’s most respected emcees and reputable chef, Big Zuu.
Following a not-so-normal time of celebrations last year, it’s been found in a recent survey that three quarters of the nation now can’t wait to get the whole family under one roof again. A third of which also revealed they look forward to the ritual of their first alcoholic drink on Christmas day – a G&T with classic tonic and slice of lemon or lime to garnish!
Teaming up with Schweppes to create his own lovable fusion named ‘The Big Zuu’, a sweet serving that includes Sipsmith sloe gin, freshly squeezed lemon juice, Schweppes Pink Soda, orange bitters, cracked black pepper and an orange peel, Big Zuu is gearing up for his first adventurous Christmas in Los Angeles away from his family!
Clash got the chance to catch up with Big Zuu to talk all things Christmas – tap in below to see what he had to say…

Is there a stand-out memory of Christmas that you remember growing up?
Yeah, getting my first PlayStation back in the day! I was gassed, shoutout Mumzy!
Did you used to leave a snack for Santa growing up?
Nah not really, more time I just ate that! (laughs)
Where are you going to be spending your Christmas this year?
I am lucky enough to be going to L.A this Christmas, it’s the first one without the family.
Talk me through your normal Christmas Day, what are the Zuu family traditions?
Lots and lots of chilling, then dinner with the Queen…
What’s your favourite part about Christmas Day?
The FOOD!
What is your all-time favourite Christmas movie?
Home Alone! All of them!
You’ve partnered with Schweppes to create ‘The Big Zuu’ G&T creation – talk me through the inspiration behind it?
Big up Schweppes, G&T’s a classic especially this time of year. It was good to put my own little twist on it this year!
What’s your go-to tipple for on the day?
Brandy and Coca-Cola!
Here’s a controversial one… Brussels Sprouts or no Brussels Sprouts?
Brussels Sprouts have gotta be on the plate!
