Black Eyed Peas cancel 2025 Las Vegas residency over “current circumstances”
Black Eyed Peas have cancelled their 2025 Las Vegas residency due to “current circumstances”.
The trio – comprising Will.I.Am, Apl.De.Ap and Taboo – shared the update in a recent post on their Instagram Stories feed, according to Billboard.
“To our dearest Peabodies,” they wrote. “It is with a heavy heart that, in light of current circumstances, our Las Vegas shows will not be moving forward as planned.”
The statement continued: “Ticket providers will issue full refunds automatically. Stay tuned for updates on future performances by following us – we can’t wait to see you again.” No further information was given.
Black Eyed Peas had announced the residency – dubbed ‘Black Eyed Peas: 3008 The Las Vegas Experience’ – last September, with a start date scheduled for February 15. It would have seen them play 15 shows at Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Resort & Casino’s PH Live.
In a previous statement, Will.I.Am explained: “Our first residency in Las Vegas gives Black Eyed Peas the opportunity to do what we do best: dream up something brand new and creative that pushes the boundaries of the live show experience.
“We draw inspiration from Disney rides, Las Vegas shows, concerts, AI, and technology. We will reinvent how we perform, creating an interactive show, a journey to 3008 that is both a concert and a play. I can’t wait for the world to see what we cook up in Las Vegas.”
Last month, Will.I.Am said that Taylor Swift had left him feeling “freaking energized and inspired” to play their run of dates in Vegas.
“I went [to Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’…] with super heavy skeptics goggles on,” the rapper said, adding that the concert “was hardcore, bro. The best sh– in the world. I left like, ‘Yo, we definitely doing Vegas. Let’s do it.”
Black Eyed Peas released their ninth and latest studio album, ‘Elevation’, in 2022. The band shared the song ‘Tonight’ with El Alfa featuring Becky G, from the soundtrack for Bad Boys: Ride Or Die, last year.
In other news, Will.I.Am revealed last summer how U2 had inspired Black Eyed Peas’ hit single ‘I Gotta Feeling’.
