Bobby Weir & Wolf Bros has postponed its upcoming performances with The Wolfpack and the National Symphony Orchestra at Vienna, Va.’s Wolf Trap. These highly-anticipated shows, originally scheduled for August 28 & 29, were to mark Weir’s first performance with his band of Don Was, Jay Lane and Jeff Chimenti since the quartet’s three-night New Year’s Eve stand in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Though the cause for this postponement has not been made public, Wolf Trap’s encourages fans to stay tuned for rescheduled dates.

Weir & Wolf Bros’ August performances were to feature support from The Wolfpack, the string and brass quintet that debuted in 2021 and has occasionally supported Weir’s band since–most recently for Weir & Wolf Bros’ fall and winter tour last year, which included a five-night stand at The Capitol Theatre.

More ambitiously, Weir’s ensembles were set to share the stage with the National Symphony Orchestra, busting out symphonic arrangements of classic Grateful Dead songs, solo Weir material and time-honored covers. Weir has experimented with these arrangements since 2022, when the artist presented four nights of music with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington. This year’s reunion taps Stanford professor and composer Dr. Giancarlo Aquilanti for orchestration and Steven Reinke as the conductor.
