Nia Archives has remixed Jamie xx‘s ‘Waited All Night’. Check it out below.

The original track is taken from his recent album ‘In Waves’ and features Romy and Oliver Sim, his bandmates from The xx. It marked the first time all three artists have appeared together on a song since the band’s 2017 album ‘I See You‘.

Now, Nia Archives has shared her jungle-imbued version of ‘Waited All Night’, after both she and Jamie played it to live audiences in recent months.

On the remix, Nia said: “was so buzzin to remix this one as ma favourite tune from jamie’s

new album. had to go full happy hardcore mode on tha flip and it’s been going off at all ma US/EU tour dates the past couple of months !!”

In other news, Jamie xx recently announced he’d be curating a day at LIDO festival as one of its inaugural headliners. His line-up includes appearances from his xx bandmate Romy, as well as Panda Bear, John Glacier, ArcaSampha, DJ Gigola, Shy One, Wookie, and livwutang.

He’s also currently on his ‘In Waves’ world tour. The run of live dates are in support of his album ‘In Waves’ which marked his first solo full-length since 2015’s ‘In Colour’.

In a four-star review of ‘In Waves’NME called the LP “an even more melancholic record than its predecessor – and a less immediately exciting one, too. But it’s arguably a more complex beast, born of a complex era yet authored by a musician with one eye on the simple, timeless pleasures of the club. With ‘In Waves’, almost a decade on from the triumph of ‘In Colour’, Jamie xx remains in bloom.”

Meanwhile, Nia Archives released her Mercury Prize nominated debut album ‘Silence Is Loud’ earlier this year, which was met with a glowing four-star review by NME, with Kyann-Sian Williams writing: “She exudes confidence and no longer hides her voice behind her wicked production skills.

“With each project, Nia waters the seeds of ideas and concepts she has planted throughout her discography. And, on her debut album, they all blossomed into a rich, self-reflective record that shows the artist beyond the beats.”
