“Dancing with the Stars” alumnus Cheryl Burke says she’s suspending her iHeart podcast, “Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans.”

Former Dancing with the Stars dancer Cheryl Burke revealed her decision to suspend her iHeart podcast, Sex, Lies, and Spray Tans — at least for now. While the reason behind her decision wasn’t disclosed, Burke clarified that the podcast was not meant to “take down” the show “that shaped [her].”

“After an incredible journey, I’ve made the bittersweet decision to say farewell — for now — to this podcast,” said Burke in an Instagram Reel. “This chapter has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life, filled with growth, meaningful conversations, and powerful connections.”

The Dancing with the Stars podcast covered topics like the way professional dancers and celebrities interact on the NBC series, including “showmances” and rivalries. It also covered the arrest of pro dancer Artem Chigvintsev, who was taken into custody last summer on suspicion of domestic violence.

“To anyone who may have misinterpreted this podcast or questioned my love for the show that shaped me, I encourage you to listen to the episodes,” she continued. “My heart has always been in the right place, and I’ve seen so many of your comments affirming that.”

Burke also thanked her fans of the podcast, whose “unwavering support” helped motivate her while making the show in the face of controversy. “My heart has always been in the right place, and I’ve seen so many of your comments affirming that. I will never forget where I came from, and my love for that chapter of my life will never waver. Any negative perceptions about me in the headlines could not be further from the truth. This podcast was always about truth, connection, and storytelling — not taking anything down.”

Cheryl Burke, who replaced Abby Lee Miller on the ABC series Dance Moms in 2017, took part in numerous Dancing with the Stars seasons as a pro dancer. She began with Season 2 of the show in 2006, and has appeared throughout the series’ run until the Season 31 finale in November 2022.
