Coldplay Protégé Emmanuel Kelly, Vampr Launch Groundbreaking Campaign
Vampr is throwing its considerable set of tools behind a new campaign for Coldplay protégé Emmanuel Kelly, one that sees both parties enter into new territory.
From today (Jan. 19), the differently-abled singer, songwriter, actor and entrepreneur releases “My Sky,” the first single from his forthcoming album, released via Vampr Distribution and represented for sync by Vampr Publishing.
Vampr, the leading music industry social-professional network and talent marketplace, is one of the pillars of Vinyl Group (previously known as Jaxsta). Based in Sydney, the business unlocks for its artists access to an ecosystem of end-to-end services, including production and distribution.
This alliance with Kelly is a groundbreaker for Vampr, notes Josh Simons, CEO of Vinyl Group and Vampr Inc, marking the first time the brand has partnered-up with an artist to show the potential of the platform — with the view to expanding the self-managed tools available to differently abled artists.
“The current recording and publishing deal provides Vinyl Group the option to extend on our relationship with Emmanuel’s production company 0utlyer in future,” Simons comments in a statement to The Music Network.
“We look forward to advancing the capabilities of our scalable platforms to support more differently abled artists and musicians worldwide,” adds Simons, “and specifically welcoming a new wave of users to Vampr.”
Kelly launched 0utlyer Entertainment in 2022 to drive greater inclusion and accessibility in the film, TV and music industries, with a first movie set to enter into production later this year. That film will see Kelly make his acting debut.
The musician tapped Vampr to handle the release and publishing for new music, citing the platform’s scalable tech, and for the promise of freedom to create and release independently.
Today, “it’s creatives who are in charge,” he comments, “it’s not somebody else driving their careers.”
It’s a wide-open road for Kelly, who will embark on a stadium tour in support of Coldplay later in the year, and whose forthcoming album is executive produced by the British band’s frontman, Chris Martin.
Before that, Kelly, described by Simons as “incredibly inspiring, talented and energetic,” will perform “My Sky” next Tuesday (Jan. 23) for the Australian Open’s All Abilities Day celebrations.
On “My Sky,” Kelly recounts his resilience and remarkable journey, which included a breakthrough stint on X Factor Australia in 2011, personal battles and, now, a future stacked with opportunities.
“The song came to me when I was at a real low point. It gave me a lifeline,” Kelly explains in a statement. “I hope ‘My Sky’ brings the same sense of hope to anyone who feels lost or alone. Our lives can change with every sunrise.”
Kelly is booked to support Coldplay on 11 trans-Tasman dates this October and November for the Music Of The Spheres World Tour, which will include a record-breaking three-night stand at Auckland’s Eden Park. Live Nation is producing the trek.
As reported last month, The Brag Media, publisher of The Music Network, is joining Vinyl Group’s existing portfolio of properties that includes music credits business Jaxsta, Vampr, and online record store Vinyl.com.
