David “Dawg” Grisman to Celebrate 80th Birthday at Moore Theatre in Seattle with Friends, Family and Previous Collaborators

Since the 1960s, David Grisman has enchanted listeners with his advanced approach to blending bluegrass, folk, and jazz styles, which informs his self-titled potion of Dawg music. In celebration of his expansive career and impending 80th trip around the sun, the musician’s birthday will be marked on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, at the Moore Theatre in Seattle. 

Grisman is expected to introduce new compositions during the one-time event. At the same time, his son, Sam Grisman, the torchbearer of Dawg music, will perform a retrospective of his father’s earlier tunes alongside featured guests Darol Anger, Danny Barnes, Alex Hargreaves, Dominick Leslie, Mike Marshall, Ronnie McCoury, Todd Phillips, and more. 

“For my entire life David Grisman has taught me how to become a better musician and a better person. He is also one of my best friends, and my father. Sometimes the gravity of this privilege is hard to articulate.
