Dawes’ Taylor Goldsmith and Hiss Golden Messengers’ M.C. Taylor will Team Up for “M.C. Taylor Goldsmith” Tour in 2025

2010s indie fans rejoice: Taylor Goldsmith and M.C. Taylor have announced an unprecedented duo tour. The two longtime alt-folk figureheads–who add lead vocals and guitar to Dawes and Hiss Golden Messenger, respectively–announced today, Dec. 12, that they will turn mutual admiration into live collaboration in 2025 with a seven-stop spring tour. From March 6 to 13, the “M.C. Taylor Goldsmith” will cross from the Midwest to the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions, playing a mix of favorites from each of their beloved bands’ catalogs without any further accompaniment.

The intimate, stripped-back “M.C. Taylor Goldsmith” tour will begin with a March 6 performance at Chicago’s Thalia Hall. The new duo will move east to a set at Columbus, Ind.’s The Oil Can on March 7, then north to Ann Arbor, Mich. for a follow-up at The Ark on March 8. After a trip down to Charleston, W.V. for an evening on the Mountain Stage on March 9, the Taylors will arrive in the Northeast with a March 11 bill at Albandy, N.Y.’s The Egg. The pair will play a penultimate show at Gloucester, Mass.’s The Cut on March 12, then conclude their collaboration with a finale at Fall River, Mass.’s Narrow Center for the Arts on March 13.

To unveil the 2025 tour, Goldsmith and Taylor both posted effusive passages about their contemporaries that demonstrate their excitement for the outing. “Soulful isn’t often a word I would use to describe too many contemporary artists, but it’s the first word that comes to mind in regards to MC Taylor and Hiss Golden Messenger,” Goldsmith offered. “He digs deep, he speaks truth and I’ve been an admirer for a long time. So now I’m very excited that we’re gonna team up for a collaborative run, playing each other’s tunes, backing each other up. Two guys, two guitars and two pretty extensive catalogues. It’s always fun to give these songs of ours new identities through different presentations like this, so I get the feeling this will be a run not to be missed. Hope to catch you out there.”

“I’m excited to announce a special tour with my friend Taylor Goldsmith this March,” Taylor shared, echoing his peer’s enthusiasm. “As most of you probably know, Taylor is the singer and songwriter and guitarist behind the band Dawes. Dawes is from Los Angeles, and Taylor’s songs (with his brother Griff) do such a deep musical thing that, as a native Southern Californian, feel so close to home for me. He’s a special songwriter, and I’m honored [to] play music together. These will be collaborative shows, so expect us to be up there together for as long as he can stand me!”
