Doom Flamingo Unleash New Single “Long Way Home” in a Rock Synth Wave Triumph

Today, Charleston, N.C.-based band Doom Flamingo returned with a thrilling new single, “Long Way Home.” Breaking fresh ground, the band enlisted the mixing and mastering expertise of Danny Kalb, renowned for his work with the likes of Ben Harper, Beck, Wilco, and Jack Johnson and released under the band’s very own label, Records are Doomed.

“Long Way Home” is an anthem for those who persevere in love and resilience, even in the face of heartbreak and adversity, with a balanced blend of rock, synth wave, and powerful vocals. Kanika Moore poignantly captures the essence of the song, expressing, “Sometimes the pain of heartbreak reminds you of the good feelings you’re letting go in a relationship. This song is about not wanting to let go.”

Guitarist Thomas Kenney delved into the emotional depth of the track, saying, “This song really carries me through when the going gets rough. I’ve found. It drives like Benatar’s ‘Love is a Battlefield’ but not just in the way the beat pulses… there’s an emotive force in the chordal harmony and Kanika’s lyricism and delivery that just makes me feel like something is supporting me, something or someone is there for me. I get a feeling in my chest every time we play it, like, things are heavy right now, but we’re gonna make it.”

Behind the scenes, the production mastery of Matt Zutell at Coast Records and the impeccable mixing and mastering work of Kalb have combined to create a testament to Doom Flamingo’s commitment to unique and electrifying music.
