Eagles donate LA wildfire relief

The Eagles have donated $2.5 million to the Los Angeles FireAid Benefit Concert to support wildfire recovery efforts. Will the legendary rock band take the stage at FireAid?

Billboard first reported the news of the Eagles supporting FireAid with the donation. The event is scheduled to take place on January 30 at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood—though no lineup has been confirmed as of yet. Live Nation, AEG Presents, and the Irving Azoff family are organizing the event. Azoff has also served as the band’s long-time manager, so perhaps the Eagles will take flight on January 30.

FireAid is billed as an “evening of music and solidarity” to raise funds for relief efforts for the ongoing LA wildfires. Organizers are hoping to sell-out the 18,000 seat venue, with proceeds benefitting families who were displaced by wildfires that began on January 7. 24 people have lost their lives in the blazes, with more than 12,000 buildings reduced to ash in Los Angeles county.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are currently performing their residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas. That residency began on September 20 and will run through April 12 for a total of 32 shows over 16 weekends. Upcoming shows are scheduled for January 17, 18, 24, and 25—with the FireAid benefit night (January 30) being clear. The Eagles won’t take the stage on the Sphere until February 14, so it’s likely the band could end up playing the benefit concert as one of the main acts.

The music industry has been devastated by these fires with several artists, executives, and creators losing their homes to the blazes. UMG confirmed more than 50 employees were totally displaced by the fires, with Chairman Lucian Grainge speaking to those employees about aid efforts in an internal memo.
